iPhone Duo screenshot size

VideoDuo makes iPhone Duo screenshots in two sizes: 1398 x 2034 for the outer display and 2007 x 2853 for the inner, unfolded display, both portrait. Landscape is the same pair with width and height swapped. Confirm both against App Store Connect before you upload.

Why are there two iPhone Duo screenshot sizes?

A book-style foldable has two screens: a narrow outer display you use when it is closed and a wide inner display when it is open. Each needs its own screenshot set, because a picture made for one shape looks letterboxed or cropped on the other.

The outer size, 1398 x 2034, has a width-to-height ratio of about 0.687. The inner size, 2007 x 2853, is about 0.703 — wider than any iPhone screenshot you already have, so it is the one that needs real layout work.

Where do these numbers come from?

These are the sizes VideoDuo's Duo screenshot tool exports, kept in one place in our code and last checked on 2026-10-30. App Store Connect's own screenshot specifications are the authority: check the current values there before you upload, and if they differ, follow Apple.

We will update this page and the tool together when the numbers change, because they read from the same source.

How do I make Duo screenshots from my iPhone screenshots?

Start from your existing portrait iPhone screenshots. For the outer display the change is small: the shape is close to a phone, so the screenshot can be scaled to fit and centred on a background drawn from your app's colours.

For the inner display, do not stretch. Place the screenshot on a wider canvas and use the extra width for a background, a caption or a second screen. Keep text large enough to read on a phone-sized thumbnail in the store.

  • Outer: 1398 x 2034 portrait (2034 x 1398 landscape).
  • Inner: 2007 x 2853 portrait (2853 x 2007 landscape).
  • Exact pixel sizes; export as PNG or JPEG without transparency.

What usually goes wrong with store screenshots?

The same file hygiene that trips up header images applies here. An alpha channel or leftover metadata can make an otherwise correct PNG fail, and a size that is one pixel off is still the wrong size. VideoDuo's checker flags all three before you upload.

If you are also adding a product page header, it is a separate asset with its own size: 3840 x 1646 at 21:9.

How can I check Duo screenshots before uploading them?

Drop a screenshot into the checker on the /specs page. It reads the file in your browser, tells you whether it matches the outer or the inner size, and flags transparency, extra metadata and sizes that are a pixel off. Nothing is uploaded to check a file locally.

Screenshots made with VideoDuo's free Duo screenshot tool are exported at the exact sizes in the table above, in your browser.

Frequently asked

Can I reuse my iPhone screenshots for iPhone Duo?

Use them as the source, not as-is. Each needs re-framing to the outer and inner sizes; stretching them distorts the UI.

Are landscape Duo screenshots supported?

Yes. Landscape is the same pair with width and height swapped: 2034 x 1398 and 2853 x 2007.
